my heart is made of worms
each of them takes turns
pulling to and fro
and making my thoughts squirm

butterflies in my chest cavity
defying my inner gravity
from my fingers to my toes
lifting feelings that are filling me

spiders cover all my skin
waves of gooseflesh all begin
fangs like thorns upon a rose
pierce my confidence like pins

...

when I see you
