I thought I killed a spider
it was crawling down
my wall
a thin white strand
extended
it was escaping something
or breaking in
either way I didn’t ask
I just reacted
I thought I killed a spider
but when I went to
clean up the body
it was gone
now I am scratching
my skin
feeling bites
seeing red
checking my ears
for eggs
thinking about what
will happen when I sleep
experiencing every second
of its sweet revenge
