The community stirred,
When a break-in occurred,
At the house by the old clock tower

The thief fled the scene,
Having picked the place clean,
In just under half of an hour

Jumping Jack lost
His strange wind-up box
And wore an expression sour,

The Little Boy Blue
Lost his little toys too
Which he'd hidden beneath the shower

Each room was left scant,
Purloined of house plants,
The wiring sapped of its power

So heed my advice,
Check all your locks twice,
Or once every half an hour
