Surveying the past
in this dire hour
we wake up realising
we have lost our power
that simple joys we overlooked
upon us they no longer shower
regret there is much all over
as fear and grimness hover-

will there be sanguine hope
will the world ever recover?

will we show more kindness
and compassion in our every endeavour?

wealth, ambition, competition
should such the headlines cover?

sadness weighs the common heart
life has shed itself of its bright colour

ah, my beloved, come, draw nearer
our faith and strength to renew together.
