plague slop flows
along the curb
chamber *** disgrace

looking down
at blue hands
fingers interlaced

begging prayer
hopeless words
escaping frailty's lips

aching bones
crushing head
****** pressure slips

deadened ears
blackened heart
lungs full of foul air

feel the chill
damp and still
glazed and vacant stare

dreadful round
of recurrence
weary of the pain

when it ends
it begins
all over once again
