The Man Without A Shadow
The Man Without A Shadow
Now we’ve all got stories to tell
And I like to tell mine from time to time
But when I tell them
I tell them in my simple rhyme
Now we’ve all had loves that have
Left our worlds torn apart
What we thought was forever love
And we were left with a broken heart
This is a story about a man that I know
Who rolled the dice and played the game
But he lost it all, yes everything
And he will never, ever be the same
You see when he first saw her
He couldn’t help but be starry-eyed
But he should have known
She would never be satisfied
Now things aren’t always sunshine and roses
But that’s how she wanted it to be
He gave her his love, even though
The warning signs were plain to see
She left him one stormy night
As lightning was flashing across the sky
He pleaded with her not to go
As they both began to cry
Now a darkness follows him
As his heart is filled with pain
Doomed to walk forever
In this never ending rain
But with no sunshine
There’s never gonna be a rainbow
With no light shining through, he’ll
Forever be the man without a shadow
