Why does one word hold so much weight
Once you say you do,
The permanence of it rings in silence
But when you take it back it hurts so much
When I close my eyes I feel it to my core
And when someone says they don’t
Anymore
It causes a pit in your stomach
Lie to me and say you do
Say that word to me
So we can be perfect before the end
I know it’s close, we get so close every time
I see it in your eyes
And then you stop again
I die inside
A little more each time
But it’s all worth the pain
And I continue to say it in vain
