Him
Then I heard him cry

While I pretended to sleep

Lying in his arms, he held me closer

It was a sob for forgiveness

For sins he never did

And sins he’d never do

He thinks I’d never remember

How he has this spark in his eyes

This hearty laugh like a child’s

How he exists so gracefully beautiful in my eyes

Wishing we could stay like this forever

He is the best part of my waking life

And in my dreams he’s still by my side

But then I heard him cry

Lying in my arms, I held him closer
