They hugged each other goodbye
It was as if time stood still
Neither of them wanting to be the one to leave
I watched them from a distance
The way she looked at him
And the way he looked at her
But they finally said their final goodbyes
I watched as she left
And as he turned and went the other way
But she turned back to look at him one last time
As if she was waiting for him to do the same
But he never did
She left a piece of her heart with him
And he took it with him
