Contemplating the dreams of memories
As they float on a cloud of slumber
Picking out the A B C’s
Of spoken promises as they stir
Amongst the swirl of conversations
Brought to mind from the day
Sinking deeper into feather down cushions
My mind looks for a favourite dream to stay
So it can lift me from the clutter
Of a mind that’s lost control
Filled with voices as they ramble and mutter
Smothering my body and my soul
Dreams please take me deep, into the well
Of warm waters of an enchanted vale
Where forget-me-not purple flowers dwell
And there I can fade into the misted pale.
