Eros
Like ancient Greeks
crafting words onto patched
papyrus, we are the split
at the bottom of a
kalamos with enough
ink to sign our names
We were born of
water reeds. Our salt-wrapped
hearts still float amongst
the long leaves
in the river where we drowned
