I followed my shadow to see where he went To see all the things he would see I've often wondered how his day was spent When he wasn't busy following me
We walked to a place in a crowded park There were people everywhere I sat down beside him on a empty bench In the middle of a busy square
We waited for probably an hour or two And then after a little while Something by the fountain caught his eye And that's when he started to smile
Another shadow came walking our way A girl, as pretty as she could be I just couldn't help but notice her beauty But she didn't even notice me
That's when my shadow stretched forth his hand And the two began to dance I watched from my bench as the shadows kissed 'Til the air was filled with romance
They danced all day 'til the sun went down And then went their separate ways And needless to say I follow my shadow A little bit more these days
