Though I struggle, I can't compensate
as I search for a reason to live
There's no brilliant light to be found in yesterday
I am like the stray dogs running with no destination

As if trying to fill a void
I was searching for a single line, a single sentence

I beg for things I don't have, but I won't get anything that way;
as I raise my dirtied hand upward towards the sky
admiring and resisting, as I search for a reason to live
Wherever I find myself after losing my way is where I'll write my own purpose
