Color Me
Arm out, hand open
to you
Is it welcome?
Am I a threat?
Do you feel
you must
stand your ground?
On your face
is that a genuine smile?
Are you careful here?
Do you outright doubt?
I say "hello."
What's that look?
There's some conclusion
you took
How did you color
and texture my limb?
How did you tone
my hello?
You hear you
and I am not
even close
to the thing in your head
Writing this
sound
down
in there
In your voice
not mine
Not sure
I like it
This muddied
voice
of ours.
