A Dogs Life

Despite my clumsy I’ve found a new home
With what’s called people, in a kennel in a dome
They feed me and hug and I lick their face
There is a round thing they throw and I just have to chase…..

It’s been now 2 years since my rescue from hell
It wasn’t so bad but now I’m quite well
Lots of walks near the street round the houses in a loop
I no longer wet the carpet, it’s outside where I ****.

They tell me I’m 10 this year, It feels like so much more
I no longer feel like chasing, I feel like 74
They’ve made 3 new people since the day that I came
They poke, **** and pull - good thing that I‘m tame

My vision is gone, and my hips are quite worn
Love to those that loved me since I was born,
But years have caught up on this old furry fellow.
I hope when they think of me they’ll feel a bit mellow.
RIP Dog
