In foreign fields
a marker stands
to honour sons
from other lands
it's painted red
and green and black
to ner' forget
the ones held back
in Flanders fields
the poppy blooms
to give respect
to honoured tombs
fathers sons
and brothers too
laid down their lives
for me and you
Poppies are worn to remember those that fell to up hold our freedom
