I walked through life with blinders on
Thinking I could see
And many things I thought I knew
I now see differently

I thought impatience was a friend of mine
I found this not to be true
As many decisions I made with him
Only brought trouble anew

I've found that patience is wisdom in waiting
She has become my new friend
Though often this friendship is trying
The results I'd recommend

I've learned that anything worth having
Is worth the time that we spend
So very patiently waiting
As they are the best in the end
