Jul 2018
there is a racoon in the holly tree
it climbed there on its own
it sashayed through the backyard weeds
as though looking for a home

it sniffed along the fence line
acting very nonchalant
this early visit morning time
was its stroll to rest's dΓ©tente

one last snack of flowered herbs
and some green vines it did munch
then a slow turn with an eye upwards
heading trunk up haunching lurch

it may still be lurking in its mansion
as it did not reveal its mission
did it fluff its pillow branches
dozing off with banquet visions?
