My mouth is a desert,
coarse
and
dry
My hands are lightning,
shaking
and
buzzing
My heart is a thunderstorm
pounding inside my chest
Trying to be heard above the noise in my head
I am choking on my words,
suffocating beneath the storm...
"Sorry, what did you say?"
I can not hear you over the storm raging inside of me
