Don’t tell me you need me
That love is the dangerous kind
Every night i went to bed
Dreaming of her
Our “I love you” turned to “I need you”
And our desires turned to handcuffs
We loved fast and we loved hard
But our love grew out of control
It became a topic of routine
I didn’t love her anymore
She didn’t love me
But we were connected
In more ways than we could count
We held on to an infatuation
That went too far
We were never meant to be one another’s
Despite how hard we tried
We fought and cried and bled
Until it was all too much
And then we fought some more
But all wars come to an end
And although we don’t regret
We will never forget the mistakes we made
So please
Don’t tell me you need me
Just show me you want me
