Reality
Sometimes I just space out.
It feels like you're leaving your body
To travel far without fatigue.
To travel to surreal places
You think are only in your dreams
But are now standing before you.
I always have fun thinking about
What I would do in those places
And how I'd live my life there.
But there's always a dark corner
That becomes the black hole which
Drags me back to reality.
My fingernails scrape against the ground,
I'm screaming at the top of my lungs and
Flailing my limbs all around.
I cannot escape.
I let go at some point
And fall through the air
To find myself back in my skin.
I'll always visit my daydreams
From time to time, to escape
The prison that is reality.
However, I must stay in reality
For my friends whom I hold dear
And for the next episode of the
Great British Baking Show.
I love baking shows. <333
