Love is patient.
Even the moon
takes time
to be full.
So don't give up, O lover!
on us.

We breathe
the same air
and look
at the same moon.
So look not, O lover!
at our differences.

Glacial water
and water in a ditch
both get sanctified alike,
when they join the Ganga.
So look not, O lover!
at my sins.

Plant a creeper of love
and water it
with your tears.
Love will overspread
your existence.
So dread not, O lover!
your pain.

Distance,
is powerless, O lover!
The echoes of your love
will be heard
throughout
the universe.
