If I were a poet, I'd have composed u in my poetry;
If I were a treasurer, I'd have kept u in my treasury;

If I were a writer, I'd have included u in my prose;
If I were a gardener, I'd have groomed u like a rose;

If I were a painter, I'd have painted u in my paintings;
If I were an orator, I'd have spoken u in my wordings;

If I were a singer, I'd have sung u in my song;
If I were a sheet, I'd have sheltered u against every wrong;

But, u see, this is simply me
What I can make, at best, a promise to thee;
I'll always keep u in my heart and mind
Until HE wants me and my business to wind.
