Denied the chance for last goodbyes,
I reached toward heaven's light;
An angel touched my crimson face,
to my wonder and delight.

Silently it stroked my hair,
and wiped away all tears;
With spirit's warm and gentle hands,
it washed away my fears.

While lying in this lonely bed,
with pain too much to bear;
God's Will be done in His own time,
the future seemed so clear.

The whitest robe of gossamer,
flowed 'round my tiny room;
It sparkled like a child's smile,
that rose above the gloom.

Somehow I knew the hour had come,
to rest my weary bones;
And with an angel by my side,
found the essence of my true home.
For my dear cousin who passed away earlier this month. May she be granted eternal peace !
