I refuse to break here
I must be strong
I must not crumble, or shatter
I have to be the pillar
and without me, this whole structure will collapse
So why is it that I allow this to surface?
I know it will cause the inhabitants of the house to flee
I know this mouse is unwanted
But I allowed it within without leaving my space

Maybe I was never a pillar after all,
since the house is still crumbling within
even with my support.
