Let Them
"Let Them Touch Our Hearts"
There are things unstoppable by man
That will haunt us if we let them.
The ailing men and women, in ill and broken bodies.
Wanting to speak and walk, wanting to see and do,
But bound to disordered flesh, continuously.
The quiet men and women, unaware we think,
Yet maybe not. Sane or insane, or asleep,
They lie there in their bodies, breathing slowly.
The legion men and women, lost in tortured worlds.
Living hells of thought darkly shaped by nature,
Or by nurture, or willfully self imposed.
Let us let them touch our hearts with fire
'Till we scream out in love to the One who is there,
"Please, please, come and help them!"
Then, while waiting, let us do what we can.
