With tears in my eyes
I walked into the darkness
wanting so bad to run back to you.
To share one more laugh.
To hold you once more.
But I walked away,
knowing it was time to leave.
One more word would make more tears fall.
One more hug would make the ache in my heart deeper.
Thus, onward I went.
