I could smell your intentions a mile away
That vulnerable look
Eyes gone rogue
Invited me to take part
With a crooked step forward
You spun your story
With a tilt of your lips
Eyes captured mine
My ears captivated by your tale
My lips bound by social contraptions
To not move
Not be rude
Listen to the breakdown
The usual underlying theme
But different all the same
Loneliness
Loss
Then you get to the point
What I like to call the cliff hanger
You want me to hang on
To be the saviour
To lose yourself in me
And yes I can talk to you late night
All night long
But even two strangers will talk to eachother out of loneliness
And even if I can understand you
That's not what you need
Because even two homeless people
Can understand eachothers hunger
But they don't have the ability to feed
