Brush of lips on my shoulder
Another one to hold me over
Lips on mine to seal the lie one last time.

Bruises hold the feeling, but they’ll fade too
Somber haunts down the stairwell, it’ll reverb through the speakers
On my drive home away from you

A lack of words stings me harder, it's been so long it grows past tense
Finding comfort in street lights
I'll keep running through campus until it makes sense.

How do I keep the parts of you I want and let go of the rest?
My blood is laced with infatuation
You’ll always be a splinter in my chest.
