Portrayed as the perfect family
In the stillness of the picture
The high gloss of the 8x10
Hide the imperfections of those who live there

Practiced smiles are questionably painted on
With a quick snap of the Polaroid
Which doesn't do the family justice
To what is really going on

You can put it in a fancy frame
Covered glass to muffle out the screams
Place it on the bedside table
Pretend everything is as it seems

But eventually the frame will separate
And the glass will shatter from it's own weight
There's just something in a photograph
That picture perfect still can't fake
