words can splutter from lips that would choose to pucker and kiss
an arm full of cuddle
a teenage fumble in the dark

I was there with you in the alley
protected from the world

we kissed like our days would not last
and we knew the dark would swallow us

we parted thinking we had forever
but the reality tore us apart.

a teenage fumble
was all we ever had.
