I don’t have to watch a movie to find a wasteland
I know it exists because I’ve driven through one
I saw a poor woman feed her child on a bridge
And heard a preacher who loved the wrong son

I don’t have to watch
I don’t have to watch
I can just live it myself
What we choose is all we know

I don’t have to watch a movie to know sorrow
I know it exists because I’m still heartbroken
I saw love beside my pillow where our eyes met
And now I see through the memories once spoken

I don’t have to watch
I don’t have to watch
I can just live it myself
What I chose is all I remember

I don’t have to watch a movie to see a tear fall
I know it exists because the scars are on the inside
I saw the time that once shown like the sun
And now passes like rain that washed away my bride

I don’t have to watch
I don’t have to watch
I can just live it myself
I can just live it myself
What I chose is all I am now
What I chose is all I am now
