Flowers

Past her fake smile she was a wilting flower, her color fading with every passing second. Alone in the abyss swallowed by shadows slowly suffocating and dying by the hour. Each petal a fragment of her broken heart left to gently fall one by one. Hidden and tucked away out of sight on the top shelf because he preferred daffodils over roses.
