Nothing is in me tonight
not fear nor excitement
nor joy or shame
just empty
shambles trying
to make something appear
out of the emptiness
like sitting at the laundromat
watching the dryer spin
and an old woman sits down
with her knitting needles and bright colored
yarns and begins
knit one pearl twos
with determination
and I adore her
