The first thing you hear is,
'are you looking for God'
my answer
is,
no
I am looking for a way out
and not to the car park.

A stark reminder if that's what it takes
that you only find Jeezus
when everything else
what you believed was
in life
breaks.

These are the dangerous times
food banks
bread lines
a population that's waiting,
revolting, but this is just
stating what you already know.

The last thing you hear is,
take a leaflet,
take a pamphlet
to read at your leisure
my answer
is,
no,
but it gives me
scant pleasure
because I can't find
the way out.
