Strange behavior
An act of kindness for a frown
see a body gasp in disbelief
A distant image so profound
I put it in a jar with my sleep
Now the time comes back around
asking me what I need for my release
Now the time makes no sound
knowing there is no reprieve
I suppose I could use this sign
to make a foundation without a leak
I suppose I could create a crime
that makes the last one seem so bleak
Instead I'll just stand next to this lie
and ask it to finally come clean
Instead I'll compromise for the sake of my growing grief
