Commuter Poet
Poems
Sep 2016
First fallen leaves
And suddenly
It becomes Autumn
Great grey and white clouds
Layer above dense greenery
Succulent evidence
Of summer passed.
Swirling breezes
Conduct dances
Of first fallen leaves
Coats and scarves
Make their first appearance
Currents of moisture
Seep through bodies
Re-awakening memories
And the world moves towards
Drawing in on itself
Nature is accepting of its rhythm
Yet my heart resists it
Wondering of the blackness
Surrounding humanity
Summer is over
And the world knows it to be so
We are with Autumn once more
And our tired eyes must awaken
To see our new truth
