Sometimes pretending it doesn't hurt
Only makes what you feel, worse.
Sometimes hiding it behind a smile
Is the only reminder that you're alive.
Sometimes the hardest part of a broken heart
Is wishing you weren't who you are.
Sometimes the shattered heart
sits and stares at the shooting stars.
Sometimes they wish for a thousand different things
But each one merely a memory of you.

Sometimes maybe giving up
Isn't saying 'I've had enough'
But saying 'I wished for an us
And my wishes didn't come true'.

Sometimes, two people love
And yet it isn't ever enough.
