I stand there, out in the rain
Watching you take wedding vows
Memories flash before my eyes
A lie strapped in God’s house
The church bells tolled, the crowd cheered
The wedding concluded, hear hear!
I looked up to the dark sky
It rained as if heaven too was crying

I stand out there, beneath the weeping heaven
Watching you laugh in your room
By your husband’s side, beautiful wife
In the sorrow’s garden I bloom
In my hand I hold the flowers you sent
And in my mind your sweet scent
The clouds thunder, and I wonder
Dark joy they behest

I stand there watching
When the Gods cry
With a beautiful soul in your arms
On the hospital bed you lie
Through the glass I look
Staring at you endlessly
The baby has your eyes you know
Onto the pain I’m hooked

It’s been long, I stand in shadows
It’s your daughter’s graduation day
Proud parents, university scholar
She walks up to the stage
I cheer in your happiness
With tears in my eyes
I remember our graduation
When our own hearts entwined

The day has come, here again I stand in the rain
My heart burns with pain
Your happy face soothes my soul
Which so long before was maimed
The church bells tolled, your daughter wed
I am showering the blessings of my share
Tears in my eyes I depart from there
And left behind no trail

I stand there watching you lovingly
As you cry beside my grave
Our wedding day, I left you alone
To hold me again you crave
In my hand are those flowers
You sent to me on your wedding day
I look upon the sky so dark
As I again lay back into my grave.
