All who are old enough to recall
how it was back in the day when
we regularly played outdoors

From sunrise to sunset our loving
parents would shuffle us out of
the house and we played & played

With next to no supervision but the
nosey neighbor's looking out for us
we were left to our own devises

Our small village was tight knit and
everyone did their part in the rearing
of every kid regardless of race or ***

The only times we made bee lines to
the house was for lunch, ice cream
truck money or the bathroom

Let me rephrase that... the only other
time was when the STREET LIGHTS
came on, you best be in the house

Summer hours were often extended
but rest assured that if you didn't make it
and your name was called... you were done.
a back in the day thought... just reminiscing.
