May 2016
i will always remember
that time by the river
after the battle was
seeing them come back
the poet and the painter
reflecting like shadows
in the river that ripples the truth
muddles it with medals
that tells of
he who dares wins
but it not like that
see your mate
lose a leg, fingers gone
life always reminding
as you drop that wine.
