        They’re sci-fi words. Futuristic-y. Sort of make sense, but all good fiction sort  
        of makes sense. We don’t believe in them. Too powerful for real science. Still,
        the what-if gives us a jolt. That’s what makes sci-fi fun. Just the right bit of
        scary.

        Then you look them up. They’re real. All real. We’ve either got steps to them
        or have them already. All real, all this power, real. In the hands of a species that
        destroys as well as it advances. All real.

        And this is the world I’m growing into.
