Started of so innocent
Small kisses of red across the skin
Little nicks and tiny ******
Began to dig
Buried deeper
Lines didn't fade
An aggression of colour
A sudden pierce that created shivers
Never seen such devastating beauty
Ravishing elegance to cherish
Delicate red pearls against pale white
Growing bigger each passing moment
Threatening to spill and soil
Each day new to add
Covering the shame of those who healed
Started of so innocent
A one-way ticket away from the insistent pain
But no longer an emotion it is
Now it's a habit
Pretty pain like a Tuesday's rain
