I think I am an adult

So if I tuck myself in bed
at six a.m.
with a breakfast of
microwave popcorn
and cold beer

there is no body
present and awake
with the authority
to tell me otherwise

If somebody could just
convince this cat
to look the other way

(cats don't even like
popcorn)
