It was love and kisses
When they walked down the aisle
They haven’t had those
Precious moments in a while
He once was captivated
By her innocence and smile
A smile in time
His actions would defile

Ya see it’s too much
For any woman to take
She needs to leave him
For the children’s sake

When does it reach the point
Where enough is enough
How long is she supposed to
Put up with his stuff
She does it for the children
But they’re a poor excuse
For her to keep on
Toler-ating his abuse

Ya see it’s too much
For any woman to take
She needs to leave him
For the children’s sake

Let me say this
To be perfectly clear
He may dominate her
Through the use of fear
But there will come a time
When she will disappear
No matter what it takes
She’s getting out of there

Ya see it’s too much
For any woman to take
She needs to leave him
For the children’s sake

It may take some
Longer than some others
But here’s a warning
For all you guilty brothers
They’re someone’s daughter,
Sister and also mothers
Who may end up burying you
Once they gain the courage

Ya see it’s too much
For any woman to take
Don’t have her grieve you
For the children’s sake
