I'm sorry for the years
the ones you felt you owed
to a man you saw as half your worth
and maybe rightfully so
I'm sorry for the words
and whispers we've not spoke
the nights we spent alone
refusing to be close
I'm sorry for the doubts
you should have never known
in the hour of your need
when I left you all alone
