I made my home
And then I left it

I had to see the moon waxing
The horses breaking free from the chariot
I had to be
Something I wasn't

I gave my love
And then I lost it

I had to watch the winter descend
Because it is stark and cold and bitter
But I still think
Its beautiful

I made my home
And then I left it

Because the grass is always greener
On the other side of the fence
And the grass on the other side of the world
Must be made of gold

I made my home
And then I lost it

And I can't get back
The place I made my home
