Dec 2015
A seed planted deep into the soil
Nurtured and cared for
By a mother's hand
In a life of toil

A stem peeked out
And opened its eyes
The light touched its face
And gave a joyful shout

Suddenly leaves stretched
And embraced the open air
The warmth and cold greeted
Pushing it over the edge

Still it grew into a flower
With tantalizing beauty and grace
Yet to realize
It was only made to wither
What is our purpose in life?
