Dec 2015
By: Cedric McClester

By sleight of hand
Or stealth
They’re blaming
Mental health
Not the loophole
That exists
For the terrorists
In our midst

See Congress
Once again
Has betrayed us all
My friend
And the message
That they send
Is just because
They can

So would I be
Wrong
To conclude
The gun lobby is strong
Perhaps I knew
It all along
Because it’s always
The same old song

They bow
And acquiesce
To their gun donor’s
Largesse
And if you haven’t
Guessed
We’re *******
Nevertheless
