No matter the slumbers that overtake
Or the past that won't release it's hold
Who you are is in the light only you can shine

No matter that love can only forsake
Or that children make you feel old
What you can be are the thoughts in your mind

No matter headwinds that are too great
Or the nights that loneliness make cold
How you will love is what your heart will remind

No matter the darkness of your fate
Or the lies that have been told
That a kind soul exists within is what God will find
